I find most of the pop music currently being promoted by the industry boring. That’s why I mostly focus on songs from the 1960s and 1970s in my programme ‘Hot Tuners’. During this period, many recordings were made that are still worth listening to today, often with immense effort. In my opinion, these recordings are characterised by greater ingenuity, a willingness to experiment and originality. That’s why, when listening to them in today’s context, you can develop many beautiful thoughts and tell stories – which, hopefully, is nice entertainment for the listeners.
